The three-day long terror strike in its financial capital Mumbai has pushed India to be among the 20 most dangerous places to visit on Earth, a British report has said.
Listing India among the world’s 20 most dangerous places after the Mumbai terror strike that claimed close to 200 lives, UK daily The Telegraph said in an online report noted that the British government was currently advising against all, but essential, travel to Mumbai.
India has been listed along side places like Pakistan, Iraq, Afghanistan, Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories, Mexico, Thailand and South Africa in this list.
Chechnya, Jamaica, Sudan, Colombia, Haiti, Eritrea, Democratic Republic of Congo, Liberia, Burundi, Nigeria, Zimbabwe and Lebanon have also been named among the 20 "most dangerous places to visit on Earth."
Writing on India, the report said, "Although the Foreign Office is currently advising against all but essential travel to Mumbai, most of the rest of the country is considered safe. Exceptions include the rural areas of Jammu, Kashmir (other than Ladakh) and the border area with Pakistan. There remains a high threat from terrorism throughout India."
Meanwhile, pointing out that there is a high threat of terrorism and sectarian violence throughout Pakistan, The Telegraph said, "… there are regular suicide bombings and attacks on positions of authority and locations frequented by foreign nationals in September this year a major explosion destroyed the Marriott Hotel in Islamabad, killing more than 50 people and injuring more than 250."

The rationale behind all the talks going on now is to get ‘em and put ‘em to rest, but who? Who do you go after and put to rest? Does our politicians have any clue as they are supposed to be running this country or do we listen to the NSG person just as they brief; as if we are watching yet another SWAT movie!
I heard Mr.Jha say ‘To be angry is a luxury’, well what else an average Indian can do in this country than to be “angry”, believe it or not! Whatever we say, I’m sure this episode or saga which lasted for more than 60 hours are going to be forgotten in couple of months, take my word for it – Reason? we’re used to it, what else do you want somebody to do? It is easier said than done to reform the country and reform the politics, man the NSG guys were working for 2 nights inside TAJ without even night-vision goggles while the outer were guarded by our police men with 303, world war I rifles (which they don’t even know when it’ll cease to work!). I have a pal in police force and as per him, if a 303 stops to work there is nothing you do other than throw it off! I have a job and I do that to feed my family, just like every other citizen in this country. In essence what I need from a Government Machinery is the support and that is why I pay the taxes since I can’t do it myself. Decent Living Conditions, Safe Locality, Chaos free freedom isn’t too much to ask for.
Once again, I’m very very glad that in spite of our differences and inadequate weaponry, the security forces did their job to the completion, may it have taken substantial amount of time.
Let our leaders do the blame games, and media increase their TRP, after all that is what we’re good at, none spared!
I really wish, at least this one time we get to the root of this, find out who those bastards were and why?
Watching Mumbai melting is something that is not a great site to go on and watch even if it is on idiot-box. Lot of guys let their lives go for a handful of lunatics who just want to deal with bloody affairs. At least this time a variety of speculations are done based on the way things unfolded. Americans, British, Jewish were targeted on Indian Soil, so the next time when a western country comes around giving advises I think they should have some sense while talking. All I can say is we mourn and let this incident trigger to something better than just mourn, as we have been doing for a long period now. I see news on different channels going about an Intel was given before and neither the central government nor the state government took any action on it. Navy has been saying that our coast guards are weak especially Mumbai coasts. Well I guess if we don’t learn now, then we won’t be there to learn later, the country won’t be there!
I salute and honor all the security forces who fought this war on behalf of all the Indians.
I just feel insecure, helpless and hope change is coming!
Some time back I had written on there is no load balancing concept in Windows XP. However with 2 internet connections which is kinda normal for guys like me (I have a broadband connection over WiMAX as well as an EVDO connection from BSNL).
So I can’t load balance theoretically, however I was looking for a way to kind of have Windows select both connections randomly or in a round robin fashion. This way I get both connections utilized. So again Google helped me, following is the DWORD that can be used to set Windows to choose internet connections randomly;
Open Registry Editor and go to;
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\VxD\MSTCP]
Create a DWORD entry named ‘RandomAdaptor’ and set the value to 1.
Keeping it to 1 enables random selection of adaptors and keep it to 0 disables it.
Try it out and see for yourselves.
Well, I’m known for my love for Windows in my friends and colleagues circle. Though I often keep going to the other side of the OS, Ubuntu is my favorite.
So with the latest release Ubuntu Intrepid (8.10), I started off with 64 bit and had my journey at a moot point where I can’t get Java work so that Juniper’s SSL VPN box can install the client on my box. Then eventually I shifted back to 32bit itself and started finding every piece of software that can replace my daily Windows can do. Finally stuck up on Microsoft’s LCS software and seems that there is no client or plug-in that can do this (basically TCP and TLS). I got even softphone working but nobody has stuff for LCS client.
Overall, it felt good to explore, at the same time; this is not for an average guy wanting to use a computer. It is way too complicated and searching on google leads you to circles and circles. Being a linux noob myself, I can’t claim much on not having to get it working based on my expertise in other subjects but this seemed to be an impossible task.
It doesn’t need much of explanations. I got this from email forward.
Well, yesterday I did myself a favor and got myself the newly launched BSNL EVDO Internet connection which apparently gives up to 2.4 Mbps unlimited connection once the project is completed (BSNL is still setting up the infrastructure). I’m hoping this to bring some relief to me with my ‘entertainment I’m already having with Tata Indicom Broadband Connection’
The plan is good, I’m already getting up to 800Kbps of speed, which gives a whooping increase in my download speeds compared to the broadband I had of 384Kbps (well, supposed to be!)
EVDO STACK:-

I walked into a Govt. office and got this connection after staying here and there, at different desks. Amazingly got it activated the same day (for foreign visitors, BSNL is India’s national telephone carrier and in an Indian Office if you get something done in the same day, you better go try POKER on that day, know that it is “YOUR DAY”! )
This is the first of its kind I believe, yesterday it is made a rule in Pakistan “ You hack and cause deaths, then you’re erased!”. USA itself has a maximum imprisonment of 20 years for hacking, but this seems to be a bit tough.
Definition as per the rule for “HACKING” follows;
|
(a) altering by addition, deletion, or change or attempting to alter information that may result in the imminent injury, sickness, or death to any segment of the population;
(b) transmission or attempted transmission of a harmful program with the purpose of substantially disrupting or disabling any computer network operated by the Government or any public entity;
(c) aiding the commission of or attempting to aid the commission of an act of violence against the sovereignty of Pakistan, whether or not the commission of such act of violence is actually completed; or
(d) stealing or copying, or attempting to steal or copy, or secure classified information or data necessary to manufacture any form of chemical, biological or nuclear weapon, or any other weapon of mass destruction.

So in the coming weeks, we can see WPA a joke too (just like its predecessor WEP)!
To do this, Tews and his co-researcher Martin Beck found a way to break the Temporal Key Integrity Protocol (TKIP) key, used by WPA, in a relatively short amount of time: 12 to 15 minutes, according to Dragos Ruiu, the PacSec conference’s organizer.
This is in a way good to know in this way rather than the algorithm broken by the ‘bad guys’. So I welcome it

I’m sure a lot of enterprise is now looking or in the process of moving to WPA from WEP, this is going to stall some of ‘em.
